Reverend Dylon T. Young was
selected as Acting Pastor of Miracle Hills
Community Baptist Church in Omaha, NE and has
served in this role since April 2011.
Pastor Young, a
native of Chicago, IL retired from the U.S. Air
Force in March 2003.
He received his call into ministry in
October of 2000.
He was licensed to preach in Jun 2003 and
was locally ordained in Jul 2006.
His ordination was nationally recognized
and accepted by the American Baptist Churches,
USA in Dec 2008.
Before accepting his call
to pastor at Miracle Hills, Pastor Young served
as an Associate Pastor, Minister of Christian
Education and a Sunday School Teacher at
Stranger’s Rest in Bellevue, NE.
He has previously served as a Lay
Minister with the Capehart Gospel Service in
Bellevue, NE, the Vogelweh Gospel Service in
Ramstein, GE and was the Discipleship Outreach
Coordinator at King Solomon Baptist Church in
Colorado Springs, CO.
For eleven
years, Reverend Young served as a leader and
teacher for the
Approved
Workmen
Are
Not
Ashamed
(AWANA)
program (2 Timothy 2:15).
This is a nondenominational ministry that
assists churches in reaching children and
teenagers with the gospel of Jesus Christ and
training them to serve Him.
Reverend Young
earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Management from Bellevue University, NE in
January 1998 and a Masters of Public
Administration Degree from The University of
Oklahoma in December 1999.
He has also earned a Masters Degree in
Biblical Studies from Grace University in Omaha,
NE in August 2007.
Reverend Young is currently pursuing a
Doctorate of Ministry in Pastoral Care with
Sioux Falls Seminary in South Dakota.
He has three
children, Alicia (15), Christian (13) and Daniel
(12) and is married to his bride of 18 years,
the former Kim Shadell.
Their family resides in Bellevue, NE.
