  • Young Adult Class UpdateDear Young Adult Class- We will be meeting in the newly constructed room beside the sanctuary this week. Furthermore, for the next couple of weeks, Pastor Rick will be teaching the Young Adult Class. 
  • Vacation Bible School Vacation Bible School (VBS) will be June 10-12 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. This is a great opportunity for children to learn about God through fun-filled activities. Sign your child up online here by May 30th to receive a FREE t-shirt! If you are interested in volunteering, sign up here by April 28th. There will be a VBS Volunteer meeting on June 2nd immediately following the church service.   • JULs Fellowship Meeting (April 4th): JULs next fellowship, Thursday, April 4, 2019, 11:00 am at Gordonville Grill, 829 Hwy Z, Gordonville. Please RSVP by April 1, 2019 to Pam Posey, sweetp61408@comcast.net
  • Marriage Small Group *UPDATED* (April 6th): IMPORTANT: We are still need of a rotation of child care volunteers. Our small group will be meeting every 2 weeks on Saturday evenings. Please contact us if interested. Our Marriage Small Group led by Pastor Rick and Julie continues March 23rd from 5 pm- 7pm at Mercy Hill Church. If you would like to sign up, please contact mercyhilloffice@gmail.com or kaylani.dowdy@yahoo.com. The book is $10 per couple and childcare will be available. Please bring your assigned Mexican dish (one per couple) for next week! All couples, all ages are welcomed! 
    • UPDATE: The money due for the books is due 4/6 (the next time we meet)! Please give your $10 to Kayla Dowdy next time we get together if you haven’t already!
  • Easter Egg Hunt Donations and Egg Hunt Stuffing Party (April 7th): We are in need of plastic eggs and candy (no chocolate, please) for the Easter egg hunt. There is a bucket in the lobby where you can place your donations between now and April 7th. Thank you! Come help us stuff Easter eggs with candy in preparation for the Egg Hunt. This will take place on Sunday, April 7th immediately following the church service in the TRIBE Room.
  •  Feed My Starving Children *UPDATED* (April 12th and 13th): *Update* We need at least one volunteer to represent Mercy Hill and help with the clean-up shift on Saturday April 13 from 4:30–6:30.  This does not require food items, so no donation needed.  There is also opportunity to help set up on Friday from 4-6 pm.  Sign ups for Feed My Starving Children will be coming up in the next couple months! Entry fee is $40 a person.     • UPDATE: LAST day to sign up for Feed My Starving Children with Mercy Hill is this Sunday, the 25th. If you feel called to serve but need a $40 scholarship, please don’t hesitate to sign up and let Donna Shaver know.  If you feel called to donate a scholarship, please place it in the large envelope in the foyer or give to Donna. Please donate the $40 cost for food supplies when you sign up unless you receive a scholarship. Also, the church still NEEDS at least one volunteer to to help clean up Saturday night. This requires no food thus no funds needed for clean up. Thank you for representing Mercy Hill and joining area churches in this important ministry.
  • Easter Egg Hunt and Fellowship Meal *UPDATED* (April 14th): Easter Egg Hunt–Sunday, April 14th at 11:00 am immediately following the service. All ages welcome. Please bring your own basket.  Palm Sunday (April 14th) we will be having an Easter Egg hunt right after service. We will also be having a fellowship meal for our 2nd year anniversary as a church! Please bring 2-3 sides/desserts/salads per family!
  •  Good Friday Sundown Service (April 19th):

                          Friday, April 19th we will be having a service full of worship in remembrance of Good Friday and in preparation for Easter. This event will be outside (if the weather allows), so bring lawn chairs, blankets, etc. Service will begin at 6:30 pm. and end at 7:37 pm (sunset). 

  • Easter Service (April 21st):

          Our Easter Service will be April 21st. This is a great opportunity to invite our lost neighbors and loved ones! Please prayerfully ask through this time for how God can use you for His purpose to further His Kingdom. 

  • Baby Shower for Anastasia and Her Baby Girl (April 28th) 

Anastasia is a lovely mother through CarePortal that has absolutely nothing. Her baby girl is due May 17th and CarePortal has already provided a carseat and a stroller (used and pretty worn) for her. We feel that this is a great opportunity to show this young woman the love of Jesus- so we will be holding a special baby shower for her after service April 28th.   • Baby Shower for Taylor Hamlett and Her Baby Girl (April 28th) 

God is blessing this church with an abundance of babies! Taylor Hamlett and Matt Hamlett are also expecting their baby girl, Ruby! MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

  • Kid’s Tribe Help: If you are interested in helping with Kid’s Tribe, we are looking for volunteers. Please contact Allison Miller for more information. Contact: ammiller@jackson.k12.mo.us
  • Nursery Help: If you are interested in helping with the nursery or teaching, we are looking for volunteers. Please contact Clarinda Unger (cunger55@gmail.com) or Jean Norman (donnorman4@aol.com) for more information.
  • Worship Ministry/Tech Ministry: If you are interested in joining the worship team, or tech team, please contact Kayla Dowdy at kaylani.dowdy@yahoo.com. We’d love more singers, drum players, bass players, guitar players, and keyboard players (you do NOT need to be a virtuoso to join– just a passion for God’s work and music!). As far as “tech” goes, as long as you know how to click a mouse or use a touch screen, you can do tech!
  • Meal Train Ministry: If you are interested in providing meals for those who are sick, for those who are in need, or know someone who is in need of this ministry, please contact Casey King (sales@magnoliaporchswings.com).
  • Baby/Wedding Shower Ministry: If you want to know more about this ministry, please contact Kayla Dowdy at kaylani.dowdy@yahoo.com or mercyhilloffice@gmail.com for information.
  • Handyman Ministry: If you need help with or consultation for a maintenance project at your home, we have a group of people available to assist. If you need help, or if you want to be a part of this ministry, please call Kent Zimmerman at 573-275-2851. Kent will connect you with one of the members of this team.
  • CarePortal/Hope House Donations: CarePortal brings the needs of hurting children and families in our local community directly to participating churches in our area.  The child welfare workers uncover the needs and work with CarePortal to make church members aware of specific ways they can help.  If you would like to be on the mailing list to receive these local requests, please let Teri Burke know.  573-275-4767 Hope House Update: Hope House Now that the weather is getting warmer, we are accepting donations of used ball equipment and fishing gear, and Clorox wipes are always welcome.  You can find a donation box in the church foyer – thank you! If you would ever be interested in helping at The Hope House or with Hope for One More you can contact Crissy Mayberry (573-979-5774) or Stacey Wiley (573-579-5466).  Or you can talk to Teri Burke – 573-275-4767. 

ONGOING ACTIVITIES

  • Kids’ TRIBE:  Kids’ TRIBE is worship for kids from kindergarten through fourth grade; it takes place during the Sunday morning worship hour. We also offer extended session (ages 3-5) and a nursery (infants-2) during the worship service.
  • Wednesday Activities:
    • Wednesday Service at 11:00 a.m. with Randy Miller
    • Choir lead by Jean Schweain at 10 a.m
  • Women on Mission: Women on Mission will meet every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. at Mercy Hill Church.
  • JUL’s: On the 1st Thursday of every month JUL’s will meet for lunch.
